Call for Project Proposals by ‘4 per 1,000’ Initiative
Following our News Alert on the initiative dated 15th July, their Executive Secretariat now has pleasure in announcing the first call for projects for formative assessment, which was launched on July 15th and will remain open until September 15th. You can find the information on the call on their website.
The announcement provides most relevant information on the scope of the call, application procedure, calendar, criteria used for the evaluation of projects and contact details. The World Agroforestry Center (ICRAF) is associated with this call. [Unfortunately, the documents are available only in English].
All of you are kindly invited to send project ideas and concept notes on soil carbon actions for assessment by the Scientific and Technical Committee, using the ‘4 per 1000’ criteria and indicators. Projects from your networks are also welcome.
As Paul Luu, Executive Secretary, says: “We are looking forward to receiving lots of relevant projects in line with the “4 per 1000” Initiatives goals.
NOTE: The “4 per 1000” Initiative invites all stakeholders worldwide to implement practical actions to achieve soil carbon storage through agriculture and forestry, and to share agro-ecological practices, such as conservation agriculture, agroforestry, regenerative agriculture, landscape management, etc. See their videos: presenting the Initiative “4 per 1000” and “Understanding the 4 per 1000 in 3’30”, and “Why soils are important for the climate?”
