Hands-on Training in Application of Remote Sensing and GIS tools in Watershed Management

Contemporary tools such as Remote Sensing (RS), Geographic Information System (GIS) and Global Positioning System (GPS) have a wide variety of applications in natural resource monitoring and management. In watershed development, Geo-Spatial technology helps in initial planning of interventions, monitoring of biophysical impacts and helps to make suitable decisions.

This training programme will provide experience in analysing available open-source remote sensing data, satellite images, using GPS and open-source geospatial software (QGIS) for watershed delineation.

This course runs from 11th to 15th March 2020. It will be held at the Watershed Organisation Trust, (WOTR), 2nd Floor, “The Forum”, Padmavati Corner, Pune Satara Road, Pune – 411009 , India.
