Lendwithcare Re-start Lending to their Small Farmer Entrepreneurs

Lendwithcare is thrilled to announce that most of our local partners are now in a position to start disbursing loans again. We expect to have our first loans back on the site early next week! Do keep an eye on the website or our social media channels from Monday 1st June.

Why start lending now?

Over the last few weeks we have been in regular contact with all 14 of our local partners to understand the impact of the coronavirus and the subsequent lockdown measures on their operations and the thousands of low-income and marginalised entrepreneurs they support. And thanks to you, we have been able to provide almost all of our partners and their customers with emergency grant funding to help them survive the immediate crisis through our Small Business Solidarity Fund.

However, many of the entrepreneurs you and our partners support are keen to re-start their small businesses now that lockdown measures are being eased and to start earning an income for themselves and their families again. We believe this is a critical time to support these small-scale businesses to get back on their feet and to help communities start to recover from the economic impacts of lockdown.

This is an uncertain time for everyone involved so we will be moving forward cautiously and continue to work closely with our local partners to ensure we are only lending safely and appropriately. With this in mind, we will only be approving a small number of loans to begin with and so they may get fully funded very quickly. It is also worth noting that any loans you support during this recovery phase may be subject to more flexible repayment terms, including longer grace periods and restructuring, and in some rare instances loans may even need to be written off.
