‘The State of the World’s Biodiversity for Food and Agriculture’ published by FAO

The FAO report on The State of the World’s Biodiversity for Food and Agriculture, to which many people have provided essential inputs, was formally launched by the Director General of FAO on Feb 22nd 2019. Please  view the webcast, which provides useful background to the report and the findings.

This first global and participatorily prepared report highlights the critical impacts of the declining biodiversity on world-wide food production. Smallholder farming is shown to most favour biodiversity. Appropriately, FAO will soon be launching the ‘Decade of Family Farming”
