Urgent Reminder: Nominations for TAAI Honours

Each year the TAAI honours those who have made outstanding contributions to agriculture for development. These awards are presented, accompanied by framed certificates, at the AGM in London, at the AGM in December.

Our top honour last year as ‘Development Agriculturalist’ was awarded to Prof Amir Kassam for championing conservation agriculture globally as a means of managing land productively and sustainably while responding to climate change.

We now need nominations from the membership for our 2020 Honours. Please visit  our website for details of the Honours categories and procedures for nomination:

“Development Agriculturalist“- to recognize outstanding contributions to agricultural development

“Young Development Agriculturalist” (Category a: UK-based; Category b: International (non-UK based); under 35 years of age – to recognise contributions to agriculture in developing countries.

“Award of Merit” (restricted to TAAI members, individuals or employees of institutional members) – for contributions to the functioning of the TAA.

We rely on members to nominate candidates, whom our Honours Panel will evaluate and recommend for this year’s awards. So please think carefully about people with whom you have worked, would one of them qualify for a TAAI Honour? Simply download an honours nomination form in WORD), complete the details and send it to the Chair of Honours Panel.
